What with Winter winds, central heating and seasonal stress, your skin can take a real hit during the Winter months. If you don’t want to splash out on pricey skincare and you haven’t got enough time to get down to the spa, we’ve got just the solution! Here are three DIY face masks that you can make with ingredients in your cupboards at home.
Orange face mask
Ingredients
- Juice of 1 orange
- 3 tablespoons Greek yoghurt
- 2 teaspoons honey
- 2 teaspoons dried orange peel
Mix all the ingredients in a small bowl. If the mask is too runny to stay on your face, add extra oats to thicken. Apply to freshly washed and dried face, and leave for 15-30 minutes to help moisturise the skin. Rinse off with warm water.
Coconut oil and honey face mask
Ingredients
- 2 teaspoons honey
- 1 tablespoon coconut oil
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
Combine ingredients in a small bowl until well-mixed. The coconut oil will warm up and soften on your face, so don’t worry if the mixture seems thick at first! Leave for 15-20 minutes then rinse off with warm water.
Cinnamon and nutmeg face mask
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon nutmeg
Mix ingredients in a small bowl to form a thick, gritty paste. Apply to clean skin and leave for 30 minutes. Rinse off with warm water, using circular motions for extra exfoliation.
